TERMS AND CONDITIONS
THE MEMORAMDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
By participating in the
Sea Fm DISCOVERED
Event, you are agreeing to the following list of terms and conditions, and will at all times adhere to at each event.
1.
Standard Terms
1.1 Information on How to Enter form part of the Terms.
1.2 Entry and Participation in DISCOVERED is deemed acceptance of the Conditions.
2.
Who Can Enter
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2 Entry is open to 12 – 25 yr olds.
2.2 Sea FM’s DISCOVERED Event is open to young aspiring singer/songwriters and vocalists.
However BANDS WILL NOT
be entered into this event. Any BANDS interested in performing should consider the HUB Battle of the Bands Event.
2.3 Preference will be given to residents living on the Central Coast.
3.
How to Enter
3.1 Fill in an online Entry form from one of the following websites:

3.2 Each applicant will receive a confirmation email to confirm receipt of your online entry.
3.3 Each successful applicant will be sent a registration form for completion (allow up to 7days after entering details)
3.4 (1 copy of photo identification and proof of their birth date, i.e. School ID card/ Drivers Licence, MUST be included)
3.5 Applications must be received by the HUB coordinator NO later than 5pm, 3 weeks prior to each of the
Sea FM DISCOVERED Heats.
3.6 Cut Off Dates: 9th September for Heat 1; 7th October for Heat 2; 20th October for Heat 3.
4.
Fees
4.1 No performer will be charged for entry to the event at which they are performing.
4.2 All other people associated with the performer will be charged an entry fee (Including Managers, Family etc)
4.3 Pricing to enter the event by the public will be at the discretion of the Venue Coordinator.
4.4 Audience tickets can be pre-purchased at Gosford Council’s Customer Service Centre, Erina Fair, located in the Erina Library; Limited tickets may be purchased on the Door at The HUB on the night of the event (to ensure your friends/family get a chance to support your performance, it would be best to have them pre purchase tickets).
5.
Advertising and Promotions
5.1 The Hub (Erina Youth Centre) & Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD) will have full control of all advertising through radio/ newspaper/ flyers/ etc
5.2 It is desirable that ALL performers promote the SEA FM’S DISCOVERED Competition at The HUB Entertainment Venue through various means and through social networks. Like the event on MMAD’s FB!
6.
Judging
6.1 A professional judging panel will be selcted by the event organisers coordinated by The Hub & Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD). All decisions will be final and
No discussion will be entered into about the judging results of DISCOVERED.
7.
Attendance
7.1 Each performer and its members must be in The Hub with the appropriate musical gear ready to be set up and receive any briefing from management of
The Hub by 5.00pm on their event night.
7.2 All performers that have performed
MUST
remain in the venue for the duration of the Heat.

8.
Event Time Schedule
8.1 Performers are expected to arrive by 5:00pm for sound checks.
8.2 Each Contestant will have a maximum of 5 minutes.
8.3 Doors open to the public 6pm.
8.4 Each Heat will start at 6.30pm.
8.5 Each Heat should be finished by approximately 9:30pm (Pending on run sheet, this may be earlier).
9.
Standards/ Duty of Care
9.1 Each performer MUST behave professionally at all times.
9.2 Each performer MUST NOT encourage any person/s up on stage.
9.3 Each performer MUST NOT encourage any unruly behaviour.
9.4 Performers MUST NOT swear or sing about inappropriate themes or they face disqualification.
10.
Equipment
10.1 Each performer should advise as to what equipment they will need for their performance on the Registration Form.
10.2 The Hub/Erina Youth Centre will try and provide all the necessary sound equipment for each event where possible.
10.3 The Hub/Erina Youth Centre try to keep personal equipment to a minimum to ensure quick change-overs and reduce the problems of the overall sound.
10.4 A Sound Engineer is provided by the Venue. Each performer will be asked not to adjust the volume on any amps without the permission of the Sound Engineer.
11.
Digital Equipment
11.1 No Cameras / Video cameras will be allowed unless prior permission has been sort from the Youth Venue Coordinator.
12.
NO Liability
12.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the Promotion on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the Promotion and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to state government legislation.
13.
Winning the 2011 Sea FM’s DISCOVERED Title
13.1 It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the winner (and any companions) may be required to sign a
legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
14.
Breach of Memorandum of understanding.
Please note: Failure to adhere to any of the above criteria could result in immediate disqualification.
